Took a friend of my kid on his first saltwater fishing trip today.

(My kid was off hunting whitetails --- the other white tail -- two legged kind)

Caught John's first salty fish -- 20+lb redfish right off Orange Beach.

a bit tossy really? Man, I went out to the beach today right next to Perdido Pass and it looked smoother than yesterday! Looks can definitely be deceiving though.

Lucky you. In all my days I've rarely even been on the same boat as a 20 pound Redfish. Sweet!

Was nice until you hit about two miles out, then it got a bit rough for a newbie.

Did Jim get to go out with you guys?  I think this was the weekend they were boating from Selma to the beach.  I'll bet their tails are dragging about now.

Nope, Jim and crew were just ahead of us when we pulled in.  They had a pretty bumpy ride across Mobile bay.
