| Me and JEC and our buddy Rodney had a plan to fish sheepies in the pass this morning, but it was not to be. We were afraid it was going to be too windy but y'all know I just got the boat reworked (posts in boat repair section) so we committed to at least launch the boat and see what was going on. We put in at Galvez knowing we probably couldn't go, made it past Theo Barrs Bridge, decided to turn back and fish the bridge since we had bait. Rodney caught a short grouper- 2nd one we caught there. Pinfish were eating us up so we went back to the ramp and fished the point across from it. Jamie caught a sting ray but the photo didn't save in the camera, not that you would care to see a stupid sting ray pic anyway. Here is Rodney's grouper.
We let it go since it wasn't legal, but still cool to know they are living in the Intracoastal. Ultralite reports that they get in his crab traps some times and Robert Turpin supposedly dove the bridge before and said big ones were down there, but I got that 2nd hand...both that we caught were juveniles. | I also made the mistake of trying to outsmart the wind and put in at Galvez and run to the Ft. Pickens pier/Jetties.....made it just past Ft. McRae and had to turn around after taking two over the bow......
