Left Marquis bayou Ramp today around 10am, sun was out, wind was down, looked like a great day to find some reds!

I fished with a good friend and local charter cap'n, ....we took my mckee craft because of the low water

we got way back up in every nook and cranny, fished in 2ft to 1ft or less, and

NADA,  ........  very frustrating!

we saw lots of mullet....... interesting, a huge variance in size from finger mullut to eating size!, but they were mostly way back in the flat water, very shallow!

We did catch a few beers and couple of sandwichs and a little sun!

But basically we were SKUNKED!

KEEP AN OCCASSIONAL RED HERE AND THERE FOR DINNER, BUT FOR
THE REST, PRACTICE HEALTHY CATCH & RELEASE TECHNIQUES
SAVE SOME FOR THE FUTURE!

We fished saturday and it was slow. We managed a few trout, a small red and a bass. The weather man had it all wrong.....

When in doubt, set the hook...

I went out on Saturday morning too. Blake and I only boated 2 reds.  Mine was around 14, Blakes was 22.  We fished almost 5 hours.  However, my dad and I fished about 3 hours Friday night at 3 mile bridge and probably caught over hundred fish(most white trout but also including 1 30inch red and 1 18inch grouper.

saw a ton of 3-6" mullet where I fish in Perdido Bay in the shallows yesterday as well.  No fish where the mullet were - but I pulled a nice 21" red off a dock and lost another on the next cast .  I was shocked nothing was eating the mullet - you could have walked on them they were so thick.
