| ok we have checked out both the batterys we have on the boat they both check out fine and hold a charge. All the terminals on the battery are fine and when you go to start the boat the starter looks as if it wants to turn but it wont crank. this all started after a fishing trip in the bay and the motor started to sputter and finally conked out have a 1/2 a tank of gas in it and never had any problems like this before .we even went to the extent of checking all the fuses, wires to see if any had burnt up. im just at a loss of what to do the next step is take it too lous marine being that they are a suzuki dealer and they have worked on it before re-doing the lower unit . Any advise we would be much thankful for.

Need to break out the volt meter and see if you are loosing voltage to the starter. It could be a bad cable, end, starter, or solenoid.

If you have a Load Tester, hook it up to the motor where the pos & neg cables attach. be sure to get a good connection & don't make sparks! If your load tester shows good batt load here, this means your batts , cables & switch are good. Remember to always tighten your batt wing nuts with pliers, even if they are clean. Good Luck!
The fix it man!

DOUBLE "D" & LV (5/10/2009) Need to break out the volt meter and see if you are loosing voltage to the starter. It could be a bad cable, end, starter, or solenoid.Sounds like a solenoid to me. Check the solenoid and see if its bad. If it is take it off and go to napa, orileys, and they should be able to match it. It will be a good bit cheaper that way.

| I have had similar problems. I had an issue with one of my twins to where I had to jiggle the throttle forward and reverse to get it into neutral before it would start. I also just had a stater go out which allowed the motor to turn over but not crank. Lou's definitely does a good job diagnosing the problem.

| Does the starter engage the flywheel or does it just click. If the starter engages the flywheel I'd go with Kenny and check to see if the motor is locked up. Try turning it over with the plugs removed.
