| A little more than a year ago, I knew a guy at work, that had ran into some hard times. He needed some extra cash, and asked me if I was interested in a Remington 870 Express 12 Ga. Shotgun. I wasn't, but bought the shotgun from him for $150.00 to help him out. A little later I posted the shotgun for sale in the forum and asked the same price that I paid, $150.00. Several members PMed me that they wanted it and the first PM I recieved was from the member Big Daddy. He told me he wanted it. We made arrangements to meet and I took the gun well out of my way to get it to him. When we met he started nogotiating down the price after he had agreed to the $150.00. I should have just drove away but had a business trip out of town and was leaving the next day, so sold it to him for less than he agreed to pay. Needless to say, that was the end of any of my dealings with this member, and I still today wish I would have put the shotgun back in the truck and donated it a worthy cause. I sold the Shotgun in December of 2007, and I apologize to the members that asked to buy it. I share this only to give others heads up, and after reading the Ebay and Spammers threads, felt it may be helpful. I normally try not to say anything bad about others, but of late something has come over me, Thanks for tolerating me of late.

| thanks for sharing........it's good for you to try to protect the other members of the forum.............he has done that to several members..........it is the way he does business........thats why there is never a pic or phone number..........he wants trades so he can tell you that your gun is not worth anything and he makes a profit, or have you drive a long way then he goes back on the price and tries to get you down .........yes he was "bug" before he was kicked off for bad dealings...........there is no reason for him to be on this forum

| I am in agreement with you 100% Garbo. The only reputation that I can find that this so called "collector" has on this forum is a very BAD one!! Buyers, TAKE HEED!! You have been warned many times by many different members on this forum about this guy, put him out of business and remove him from this forum once and for all!! It doesn't take an act of God for me to see the light on this clown!! He is a total  and a dangerous person to deal with in my opinion!!!

Your story goes along with the title "Beware of who you sell to" I'd say if your buying and its a nice piece(or what you expected of it) and your happy with the price then your golden, there's no way to tell your buyer KNOCKED someone else down on his buying price...
If you let someone dick you down on the price you set for your own property that your selling its your own fault not the buyer, thats what buyers do. I've had it happen to me with a car I owned and was not happy about it after the fact, but was happy it was gone...

I've had it happen to me with a car I owned and was not happy about it after the fact, but was happy it was gone...I am in total agreement with the above. Sure I would have been pissed to drive a good bit out of my way for him to just try to renegotiate the price when I got there after we had already talked about the price. I don't know who this "Bug" guy is, but if he were to have done this to me I would have told him what I think about the situation, and got my shit and left. It's up to the seller to dictate the price of an item they have, and be firm when "that's what you want for it". Again I apreciate the heads up with this guy, but if you didn't get the price you agreed on, thats your own fault.

Thanks for the info. I have bought guns from members here before and had no problems, but this guy seems weird anyways. Thanks again great thing to tell people who to watch out for. Nothing wrong with that if anyone has a problem with it they must be a problem maker.

I appreciate the heads-up and the honor it takes to let us know. If I had agreed on a sale price & included my 'hassle factor' in the deal (as you describe, since you were just breaking even- minus gas & time) & then the guy backs out & offers less than we had agreed upon b/c he knows I've gone out of my way, I'd be pissed too... | If somebody agrees to a price and you drive out of your way to meet him, he should honor that price. I don't know Big Daddy and have no opinion of him but I would have put the gun back in the truck. I once drove all the way to Harold to buy a Marlin 30/30 that was advertised in the Shopper for $150. The guy met me at a store over there. I looked at the gun, pulled out a hundred and a fifty and handed it to him. He said "The price is $200". I said "That's not what the ad said." and pulled out the Shopper and showed it to him. He said "Yeh, but a guy called me and said he would give me $200." I told him to sell it to him then, got in the truck and drove off. I saw it advertised for $150 the next week. Money talks and BS walks and unless somebody is pulling out their wallet, a free appraisal is worth exactly what you paid for it.

You agreed to pay the $150.00, and I turned away other people that wanted to buy the shotgun because you were first, then drove to where you could meet, and then you crawfish. As for being sorry for my sufferings, don't be, I got the chance to help someone who needed help, which you knew that when you agreed to buy the shotgun. If you go back and read the thread, I stated the whole story in the first post. Your reply, is a far worse statement of, or attack on your character than my review of our dealings. Look, nobody made you sell that gun to him and everyone who bought a gun or something from him did it on your own accord. Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me. It should not be up to big brother to ban and protect us. You should be able to make and do deals yourself and feel good about it or do not do them at all. And do not complain about them over a year later, Just don't deal with him. I am sure that there are others that have had bad experiences on this and many other forums. I know of one in particular but that guy is not calling
that fellow out he just will not deal with him any more and the guy did him kind of crappy from what he told me, ON THE PHONE. And any gun you buy that you really got over on the dude you bought it from you feel good do you not. I feel great about the gun I just bought and paid less than half of what its worth and I never tried to talk him down. He set the price and also knew what he had and from what I know he feels good about selling it. That is the way it should be.

I think that the person (Garbo) that started this thread, and the person he has a problem with (Big Daddy) should finish this via PM. Now that everyone gets the gest of it, this is for them to cleanup. And I would recommend that when someone has a problem with another member, they don't need to wait a year to complain.

| i find it hilarious when someone sends me a laughable lowball offer, people on here are cordial and nice to these scumbags someone people even "thank" guys for their feeble offers usually less than half of retail i say, take your lowball offers and stick them in your ass, ive had far too many clowns pm me when im trying to sell something at an already less than retail price, every one of us on here want good deals on guns thats why we come on here, but to lowball people and waste their time is ridiculous ive seen far too many im looking to buy guns posts from this guy, knowing he only wants to pay feeble amounts...we all want $250 glocks $300 AK47s and 500$ AR15s but it aint happening.
2nd amendment is what seperates us from them!
