Hey fella's my 9 year old has been using a 4.5' rod w/spincast reel for a while. I wanted to move him into something alittle more suitable for saltwater. He uses my 6.0' pole w/spinning reel but gets tired out. What if any equipment would be easier for him to handle? This may be just a matter of building up stamina not sure yet.

Get up with Tunapopper he is in Orange Beach has/works at a tackle shop. They are having a great sale. I went over a couple weeks back and purchased a few things. Everything in store 20-50% off. Top Gun Tackle.....251-981-3811

Look into a midrange shimano spinning reel (Sahara is a good one) in a 1000 style coupled with a light action 6ft rod. This will be less resistive to small arms and with the gear ratio of that reel and smooth balance he'll be able to fish alot longer without tiring.
