Afternoon of Wed, September 17:

Had to do some errands around town this morning - finished up around noon. Saw the water was flat & it wasn't so hot -so I asked my husband if he wanted to go fishing. Of course I didn't have to ask him twice- lol. Launched the boat and was at the Coast Guard station by 2pm. HELLA-amounts of bait over there but didn't get any quality fish. We put pinfish in the livewell and headed on to another spot.

Waved to Lobsterman as we passed him on his way in home from fishin. ...Anchored at our favorite slot under the bridge & put down baits. It didn't take long for the reels to start singing. I lost count of our total, but we caught more than a few gags (keepers too!!), several drum (most all were slot, few were puppies), 2 grey snapper, and a spade - -using carolina rigs with circle hooks baited up with live shrimp, dead shrimp, & whole frozen cigs.

Headed back to the hill as the sun disappeared. All fish were released for another day (& because we didn't have any ice ) Stay tuned... heading offshore tomorrow in search of more!

A few pics:

Good report, sounds like the fish kept you busy all day. Too bad you didn't have any ice, you would have been eating good.

Thanks for the report, always enjoy them. We were heading out to do the bridge and jetty today but decided to go elsewhere.  What size hooks did you use? May head out there Saturday and just spend the day under the bridge.

I think they are good fried. They have a dark, stinky part but the white meat around it is pretty good, IMO (and I'm a picky eater, lol)

We were using 3oz leads with 80lb floro leader & #5 circle hook.
