| I decided to take a late morning trip down to the sound today. Loaded up the kayak and got down there at around 9:30am. Water was glass and a little dirty. After about 20-30min, I get my first hit. It felt like a little peck on the line, but I decided to set the hook anyways. After that, it took off peeling drag. Got him in and it was a nice slot red. I throw some more with no action. Then an hour later, I get a hit not 5 ft from the yak! I was reeling the spoon back in and then a huge red comes up and swipes it. He took off and the towing sequence begins. I got him in and it was right at the upper slot limit. To end the day, I got an average speck around 15in. Total catch: 2 slot reds and a speck(15in). All released Sorry, no pics since im a little nervous to bring a in a yak.

| great post, there's nothing like being right on top of the water when a fish hits close. here's an idea, get one of those disposable water-proof cameras . I've taken pictures underwater with them and they work great . cost less than $10 bucks

Congrats on your trip! You can get the disposable waterproof cameras or I found one at K-mart for about $6 that is reusable and takes good pictures. It is just the cost of the film and development which is very cheap with the 35mm film.
