Football party at my house 1465 W. Fairway Dr. Gulf Shores, Al 36542. The whole forum is invited. To clarify I am a rabid Auburn Fan so this will not be a Alabama only party. BYOB and a dish. I am making all sorts of other stuff! There will be cards so bring a bank...don't hesitate to bring loose change as I like looking thru it for old coins! There will be a chimenea so some folks can bring some extra wood! I have made a rather bold bet with daryl Wheatley of Hooked Up Magazine so you guys can come and see who pays up!

Anyway kickoff is at 2:30. This should be a blast...Hell I think even Murph is back from his sea voyage!

Wine Tasting Friday 14 Nov, 6:30PM at THe BSH

A few weeks back we had a discussion on the PFF about wine and we volunteered to host a simple introduction to wines at our boat house, The BSH. So, Friday, the 14th at about 6:30PM grab a bottle of wine that you like -NO Boones Farm, Gallo Night Train :boo.

We have proof that we have enjoyed a few bottles of wine as one interior wall in the BSH is covered with corks. After retirement, we drove back to Sonoma County and worked in a friend's vineyard and winery for about a year, 1990-1991. We learned more about wine in that period of time than we could have in years. We will discuss our experiences as well as why we like "Old Vine Zinfandel". Plus you can find out why we call it "The BSH".

In addition to your bottle, you may bring a snack to share, nothing too spicey that would hamper wine tasting, but something like cheese or crackers, etc.

Kristen and I want to thank you, your family and friends for the ride over to Ft. McRee and the hospitality you all showed us. We had a blast! And guys if you didn't see his boat it is awesome. Although Kristen and I didn't sleep on the boat it has all the amenties to accommodate a large group and hold all their camping/fishing gear and supplies. Some of you may not know but the Playin House is available for rent. If any friends or family are looking for a different kind of vacation, check out the Playin House, it's worth it.

Fort McRae Camping on the Full Moon of October

Many did not or could not attend the last event on September 13, 2008. The month of October is always (in my mind) " Made for the Locals" time. All the vacationers have long gone and the jellies have followed. The heat is still here enough to swim and enjoy the waters. The nights are cool for comfortable sleeping.

This is my favorite weekend of the entire year for camping out, sitting by a fire, fishing and dune hiking without flash lights.

We will be there !

This Saturday at the dog park on Lloyd Street ( the one with the dog beach) at 0830 there is a Great Dane meetup, So Bring your HUGE four legged family memebers down to the dog park for some good clean fun and meet some new friends. Last month we had about 25 Danes running around was a blast! If you are interested post a reply on here so I can kind of get a number of attendees.

From the other thread we came up with the weekend of Sept. 13th for a little get together at Ft. Mcree. Everyone is welcome. If you don't have a boat, someone in the group will shuttle you out there. I put in at Sherman Cove, but I can run to most anywhere to pick someone up. If Matt (Ocean Man) comes out there, we should be fed pretty well. Don't mean to put the pressure on ya Matt.:moon I just love that coconut battered fish.

Bring some fish to throw in on a fish fry maybe Saturday afternoon/evening.

But plan on either coming out on Friday and staying the whole weekend or just coming out to stay on Sat. night. Bring the family.

I supplied a lot of the firewood last time, but I have since run out of firewood. So we are going to have to get some elsewhere.

What else am I forgeting?

For those of you who know me, I cook and cook and cook. It's therapy when you have a charter captain husband and a 7 y.o. who's going on 37 who knows everything - just ask him. I have catered several parties/dinners/receptions for friends and family over the years. I've constatnly been asked to open a restaurant. Ain't happnin! I can't/won't do 24/7 when I have a kid who still wants me around. However, after some deep consideration - not to mention some prodding and poking from friends and family - I am going to go ahead and open a catering business. Move over dk/Due South Custom Charters, here comes the rock's Due South Catering Company. That being said, I've got a lot of leg work to do getting licenses and such, but CC's wine shop on 98 in GB is allowing me to debut (sp) out of their shop on August 28 5-7p.m. I'll be matching the foods to the wines. Both are free. Y'all come by and give us a shot. Pick up a business card or two. I don't know if I'll have the menu down by then, but you can at least taste some of my specialties. It may also get you a chance to meet some other forum members in a not so formal basis. Give me a shout/PM or post to let me know about how much I need to cook.

hey members i know we usally get toghter at the oval office but being the third thursday of the month how about we go over to the RFRA building and listen to what capt. paul redman and joe z. have to say. their will be food but bring your own drink (beer or what ever) their is a grill out side if anyone want's to grill up something. if you where watching blab tv sunday and saw joe z. talking with capt. dale perkins and capt. bob zales you know that their is a lot of new stuff coming our way this year. i have already posted something on the chit chat about noaa rules coming in 2009 and by 2011 another $25.00 fee to fish! so come on out we need your help to stop this all you have to do is listen.

Calling out all you dirty, smelly, blood covered, bonita smelling, crazy sharkers out there!!!

I've received lots of requests for another beach sharking get together. So lets get one on the books for August 16th. It's a full moon! We could do it at the same location and do the same lay out. We'll cook up some burgers, dogs, chicken (it is chicken bone beach after all) and of course everybody should bring their fav. adult beverages.

So if everybody wants to give it a go, we will need some yaks, and some lanterns. I can supply the charcoal, fluid, burgers, and dogs. Somebody could bring the buns and condiments, and Reelhappy is already geared up for bringing the chicken legs.

So let me hear it folks, who's down for doing a little fishing. Remember, if we don't catch anything......well we are still drinking!!!

Forum Bash Ft. McRee Campout

I figured that we could try and set up another campout bash on Ft. McRee. I want to give everyone enough time to plan etc... and was thinking of a late August, early September time frame. Maybe by this time, the scorching sun is not so bad. It was a good time last time out there.
